Birthday Bash! Sarah Vaughan, James Weldon Johnson & Nina Simone Drop Fire And Light In Your Cuppa!

It's been six months since Daily Cuppa Go started serving "fresh unexpected" each day. To celebrate, we're having a party with some very special musical and literary guests. Enjoy the sounds and have a cup of Café de Olla!

Sarah Vaughan, one of the true jazz greats, was known as "Sassy" or "The Divine One." Her powerful, beautiful voice and sassy divinity seem just about right to get the party fired up. Following her set, parties don't want intermissions, so we'll keep roaring along with some powerful poetry from civil rights and Black history legend, James Weldon Johnson. Then, to put an exclamation mark on the celebration, Nina Simone will leave us wondering what marvelous, spirit-shaking light just blinded us. And there's Mexican Spiced Coffee for all!

Sarah Vaughan: Berliner Jazztage (1969) - 60-minute live performance.
